Abstract

PURPOSE: To widely decrease a gas leak in a machine, by interposing an end plate of a turning scroll with a slight amount of gap between a stationary member secured to a fixed scroll and the end plate.
CONSTITUTION: An end plate 1a of a turning scroll 1 is interposed between a frame 8 secured to an end plate 2a of a fixed scroll 2 and the fixed scroll 2. Here a slight amount of gas is provided between the frame 8 and the end plate 1a. A seal housing 13 is installed to the frame 8 and a mechanical seal 14 is contained in said seal housing 13 to prevent a gas in a housing room H from leaking out through an extending part drive shaft 7. In this way, the end plate 1a of the turning scroll 1 is held between the fixed scroll 2 and the frame 8 with a slight amount of gap, as a result, a seal area is two times than the conventional one thus capable of widely decreasing the gas leak from the housing H.
