Abstract
PURPOSE:To make a ridge waveguide needless to simplify structure, by coupling a waveguide and the transmission line, which is connected to a microwave semiconductor circuit arranged for the waveguide above, electromagnetically by a dielectric resonator. CONSTITUTION:Square-pole dielectric resonator 7 is excited in the TE11delta electromagnetic field mode by microwave electric power of the TE01delta electromagnetic field mode outputted from GaAs MESFET 3 to gate micro strip line 6. The magnetic force line which is generated in resonator 7 and is shown by broken line (a) couples electromagnetically resonator 7 and waveguide 1, and microwave electric power of the TE11delta electromagnetic field mode of resonator 7 is directly converted to microwave electric power of the TE10 electromagnetic filed mode of waveguide 1 and is supplied to a load. Thus, since resonator 7 functions as a BPF and a transducer which converts the electromagnetic filed of microwave electric power from quasi- TEM to TE of waveguide 1, no ridge waveguide is required to simplify structure.
