Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the high rate discharge characteristic and low temperature discharge characteristic of a battery, by using negative poles of a light metal, positive poles, and an electrolyte prepared by dissolving lithium bromate in an organic solvent. CONSTITUTION:There are used negative poles of a light metal such as lithium or sodium, positive poles molded under pressure from a mixture of, for example, manganese dioxide, an electrically conductive agent and a binder, a non-aqueous electrolyte obtained by dissolving lithium bromate in an organic solvent such as propylene carbonate or the like. For example, the electrolyte may be obtained by dissolving in an equi-volume mixture of propylene carbonate and 1,2-dimethoxyethane lithium bromate in a concentration 1mol per liter of the equi-volume mixture. Thus, the capacities at high rate discharge and low temperature discharge can be increased and the battery voltage can be increased.
