Abstract

PURPOSE:To manufacture steel sheet described in the title which is uniform over whole breadth, by controlling cooling air quantity in lateral direction of the steel sheet by adjusting the dampers of a quick cooling means before plating so as to make uniform the temp. of the steel sheet over whole breadth in quick cooling after plating. CONSTITUTION:In manufacture of galvanized steel sheet by a sendzimir system continuous zinc dipping unit, the steel sheet 1 is conveyed through an annealing, reducing furnace 2, a cooling zone 3, a quick cooling zone 4 and immersed in a molten zinc bath. In the quick cooling zone 4, the temp. of the edge parts of the steel sheet 1 is kept higher than that of the central part by dividing laterally the draft air duct of the quick cooling means into plural sections, which are equipped with separate dampers respectively, in order to adjust the cooling air quantity in the lateral direction of the steel sheet 1. The steel sheet 1 is plted with controlled quantity of adhered zinc while passing through plating rolls 6, 6', gas wiping nozzles 7, 7', and is suitably air cooled, then the steel sheet 1 is quickly cooled by the control of the temp. of lateral direction of the steel sheet passing through an aqueous soln.-spraying means 8, 8' at abut 425-440 deg.C.
