Abstract

PURPOSE: To avoid abnormal tension on tape at capstan pressing, by controlling the torque of reel so that a given acceleration can be caused to the uppermost circumference of the reel winding diameter through the detection of the tape winding diameter of reel.
CONSTITUTION: The photo sensing elements 28, 29 opposing to the light sources 26, 27 produce the output corresponding to the reel winding diameter. The output of the steadystate torque signal generation circuit 30 at the supply side and the transient torque signal generation circuit 32 at the supply side gives a given tape acceleration independently of the winding diameter of the reel 11. Until the tape speed reaches a given speed, the Schmitt circuit 36 detecting the tape speed operates the switch circuit 34 to give the output to the output signal reel drive circuit 39 of the addition circuit 37 to produce the torque corresponding to the winding diameter of the reel motor.
