Abstract

PURPOSE: To make easy the check of data bus, by making effective the mode set command independently of the location of the media when the command to check the data bus system is given.
CONSTITUTION: The mode set command to designate the recording density of data, e.g., SET 800, is given from the upper rank unit to set the flip flop 2, and when the Loop Write to Read(LWR) command is given from the upper rank unit succeedingly, the flip flop 1 is set. By this , the mode set circuit 39 is set and the test data of the LWR command is inputted to the check circit 12 where the propriety of data bus is checked. When the magnetic tape detects BOT, independently of the LWR command, the mode set circuit 39 can be set to the mode in arbitrary recording density with the mode set command.
