Abstract
PURPOSE:To increase the filling amount of active substance per unit area of an alkaline battery and prevent the decrease in utilization of the active substance by coating a mixture liquid of nickel powder and a binder so as not to close the opening of a core having an opening and then sintering the mixture. CONSTITUTION:A mixture liquid of nickel powder and aqueous solution paste such as polyvinyl alcohol, caboxymethyl cellulose or the like is so coated on the surface of a current collector operating also as a core having an opening as not to close the opening of the core. This core is sintered in the ammonia decomposed atomosphere. Aqueous nickel nitrate solution is impregnated in the sintered substrate by ordinal process, treated with aqueous caustic soda solution to once prepare nickel hydroxide and to then prepare oxy-nickel hydroxide as electrolytic oxidation thereof.
