Abstract

PURPOSE:To minimize the concentration of stress in a laminated iron core and thereby improve the mechanical strength thereof, by cross-sectionally and semicircularly forming bottom portions slots of a rotor. CONSTITUTION:Rotor conductors 1 are inserted in slots 11 having a cross-sectionally semicircular portion. A laminated iron core 2 of a rotor has arcuate projections 42 on the inner circumferential surface thereof. The arcuate projections 42 are engaged with arcuate recesses 43 provided in the outer circumferential surface of a shaft 3 and constituting key ways, so as to transmit a torque. In this structure, the stress in the slots 11 can be dispersed to thereby prevent the concentration of stress.
