Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare a water-soluble carcinostatic agent by treating the insoluble fraction of the autolytic product of yeast belonging to Saccharomyces genus, with enzyme capable of lyzing the cell wall of yeast.
CONSTITUTION: Insoluble fraction of the autolytic product of yeast belonging to Saccharomyces genus, selected from brewer's yeast and baker's yeast, is treated with enzyme capable of lyzing the cell wall of yeast and produced by bacteria belonging to Arthrobacter or Oerskovia genus, at pH6.0W9.0. The objective carcinostatic agent is separated from the solution thus obtained, by e.g. treating with a water- miscible non-solvent.
