Abstract

PURPOSE: To recover captioned silver of high purity at a high recovery rate, by contacting the silver salt soluble aqueous solution circulated in the condensation chamber of ion exchange film electrodialytic tank with active carbon, and leading into the electrolytic tank for electrolysis.
CONSTITUTION: The bleach-fix solution waste liquid is circulated from a desalting chamber liquid circulation tank 34 in an electrodialytic tank 21 into an anode chamber 27 and a desalting chamber 29, and the silver salt soluble solution is circulated into a condensation chamber liquid circulation tank 48 and a condensation chamber 28. As the electrodialysis progresses, silver complex ions, silver ions, and traces of ferric or ferrous complex ions of amino polycarboxylic acid are gradually accumulated in the silver salt soluble aqueous solution, and when this aqueous solution is circulated into an adsorption tank 60 filled with active carbon, only the ferric or ferrous complex ions of amino polycarboxylic acid are adsorbed and removed. The aqueous solution after adsorption treatment by active carbon is circulated in the electrolytic tank 38, and when direct current is passed between a cathode 40 and an anode 39, silver of high purity is electrolytically deposited on the cathode 40. The bleach-fix solution waste liquid after dialysis is re-used after adding insufficient chemicals.
