Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide title compsn. which produces coating film having excellent corrosion resistance and does not yellow, by a method wherein a required amount of water and a surfactant, etc. are added to finely divided thermosetting resin particles consisting of a polyester-modified vinyl resin and a phosphoric acid gp.-contg. copolymer resin.
CONSTITUTION: (A) 15W95wt% of a polyester-modified vinyl resin having a hydroxyl value of 10W150 resulting from the graft polymn. of (a) 2W40wt% of an unsaturated polyester resin and (b) 98W60% of a monomer mixt, consisting of an N-alkoxymethylated monomer of an α, β-monoethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid amide and an α, β-monoethylenically unsaturated monomer other than the above acid amide, is mixed with (B) 85W5wt% of a phosphoric acid gp.-contg. copolymer resin obtd. from a monomer mixt. consisting of (c) a phosphoric acid gp.-contg. α, β-monoethylenically unsaturated monomer and (d) an α, β-monoethylenically unsaturated monomer other than the (c) component in order to produce finely divided thermosetting resin particles. Then, 0.01W1.0wt% of a surfactant and/or a thickener and a required amount of water are added to the above resin particle to obtain a water-dispersed thermosetting coating compsn.
