Abstract

PURPOSE: To eliminate the relative displacement between measuring devices and make the accurate detection of outputs possible by detecting crank angles with the slit disc mounted to a crank-shaft and the projectors mounted to an engine case.
CONSTITUTION: A slit disc 3 is mounted to one protruding end 12 of the crankshaft of an engine 1 and a projector-receiver 4 is mounted to an engine case 11. Multiple slits 31 are provided at an equal pitch at the periphery of the disc 3 and one reference slit 32 on the inner side thereof. The projector-receiver comprises fixing projectors 34, 44 and receivers 45, 46 to a channel-shape frame body and mounting a stationary slit plate 47 having the slits of the pitch equal to that of the slits of the disc 31 on the front surface of the receiver 45. As a result of this, a reference output is taken out at every one turn of the shaft 12 and the output changing periodically at the pitch component of the slits 31 may be taken out from the receiver 47. Thereby, there are no relative displacement between these measuring devices and the accurate detection may be done.
