Abstract

PURPOSE: Titled composition, suitable to an electrical insulating material, etc., prepared by compounding an esterified product from a resin having terminal epoxy groups, an oxazolidone ring and an isocyanurate ring, an unsaturated monobasic acid, etc., with a photosensitizer, etc.
CONSTITUTION: 1W5 Equivalents of an epoxy compound is reacted with 1 equivalent of an isocyanate compound in the presence of a heteroring-producing catalyst, to obtain an epoxy resin, containing an oxazolidone ring and isocyanurate ring and having an epoxy group at its terminal. The resin is compounded with an unsaturated monobasic acid such as acrylic or sorbic acid, and if necessary with an unsaturated polybasic acid (or anhydride) such as maleic or fumaric acid, in such amounts that the amt. of the epoxy group in the resin is equal to the amt. of the total carboxylic group in the acids, in mol, and reacted in the presence of an esterification catalyst such as a quaternary ammonium halide, by application of head. Titled resin composition is obtained by compounding 100pts.wt. of the obtained unsaturated polyester resin composition with at least 0.01pt.wt. of a photosensitizer and, if necessary, with a polymerizable monomer.
