Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable stable detection by blocking external effect with a detection element, a compensation element and the like housed in a heating source composed of metal wire coiled.
CONSTITUTION: The detection element 24 made of an oxide catalyst thermally connected to a platinum resistor and compensation element 24 inactive to gas having a thermal characterstic similar to the element 23 are housed in a coil-like heating source made of a metal wire 20 coated with a heatproof insulating layer 21. With such an arrangement, completely free from any axternal effect, the elements 23 and 24 enables stable detection of combustible gas while longer life of the gas detector itselft. The result will be the same if the elements 23 and 24 sre separately housed in the coiled heating sources having this metal wire structure respectively.
