Abstract

PURPOSE:To efficiently form a printing plate with superior printing resistance by developing a photosensitive printing plate using a photosensitive composition consisting of a specified high molecular compound and a photosensitive diazo compound with a specified developer contg. no anionic surfactant. CONSTITUTION:A support is covered with a photosensitive composition consisting of a photosensitive diazo compound and a high molecular compound contg. a monomer unit having an aromatic hydroxyl group, e.g., N-(4-hydroxyphenyl)acrylamide 1- 80mol% and a (meth)acrylic acid ester monomer 5-90mol% and having an acid value of 10-200. The resulting photosensitive printing plate is exposed, and after dissolving or swelling the nonexposed portion the plate is developed with a developer consisting of an org. solvent as ethyl acetate having a water solubility of 10wt% or less at ordinay temp., an alkali agent and water to form a printing plate.
