Abstract
PURPOSE: To make easy the peeling and removal of the cake piled up on the filter surface in the filter consisting of a couple of the filter plate and the filter frame vertically facing each other, by applying the filter medium to surface of the filter plate on the frame side interposing the wire mesh, and by forming the second filtering chamber within the filter plate.
CONSTITUTION: If the waste slurry is introduced into the filter press 1 through the feed port 7, the waste slurry enters into the filtering chamber 2a of the filter frame 4 through the communicating hole 12, and is filtered by the filter medium 5. The filtrate exudes into the filtering chamber 2b consisting of the communicated cavities 6 formed in the filter plate 3, and is taken away from the outlet 9 through the communicating hole 11. Next, while feeding the washing solution from the feed port 7, the pressure air is introduced into from the outlet 9; hereby, each small compartment of the filter, being supported by the lattice type wire mesh 15, swells out to the filter frame side and deforms, so that the cake sticking to the surface of the filter medium 5 is easily peeled off and is washed by the washing solution, and is discharged from the outlet 8 through the communicating hole 13.
