Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable a high-density handing of trucks in a small floor area and to economize maintenance equipments by a method wherein rectangular trucks are subjected to 90° directional changes on a rectangular floor by rectangular circulation of a conveyor.
CONSTITUTION: With a chain 8 driven, a lower roll 11 of an operating arm 9 fitted to the chain 8 gets into the starting end portions of raising members 13 and 14 substantially simultaneously, and the roll 11 travels while being lowered along a downwardly inclined passage 16. Due to these actions, the tip end of the arm 9 rises and an upper roll 10 of the arm gets into a circular skirt 6 of a truck 3. Then, after a 90° directional change of the chain 8, the arm 9 conveys the trucks 3 into open spaces 4 and 5 respectively. After this conveyance, the roll 11 reaches the final end portions of the raising members 13 and 14 and is guided along an upwardly inclined passage 17, so that the upper portion of the arm 9 is leveled and disengaged from the skirt 6.
