Abstract
PURPOSE: The electric dust collector which is capable of effectively collecting dust even from low resistance dust and dust-laden gas of low densities by providing the aggregating device of dust on the influent side of the dust-laden gas of the wet type electric dust collector which is so arranged as to form liquid films on the inside surfaces of dust collecting electrodes.
CONSTITUTION: Dust-laden gas flows in a aggregating device 6 like the arrows A. In the aggregating device 6, high voltage is being applied to its discharge electrodes 7 and the dust in the dust-laden gas repeats suction and reflying to and from the dust collecting electrodes 8. Of the dust having been aggregated, the one which deposits on the dust collecting electrodes 8 and stays on their surfaces is relatively little. The aggregated dust next impinges against the impingement surfaces 1 of the electric field forming electrodes 3 of the wet type electric dust collector 5 and flows into the wet type electric dust collector 5. In the wet type electric dust collector 5, the discharge parts 2 of its electric field forming electrodes 3 are discharging corona to capturing electrodes 4 and water films are being flowed down the inside surfaces of the capturing electrodes 4.
