Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide effective control of noxious exhaust component, by interrupting fuel feed in case of deceleration meeting preset conditions through detection of various running conditions of an internal combustion engine.
CONSTITUTION: An engine 1 and its suction/exhaust system are equipped with an air sensor 6 containing a flow meter 4, valve detecting switch 8 for a throttle valve 7, revolution sensor 2, vehicle speed sensor 10, water temperature sensor 3, temperature sensor 11 for a catalyst 13 and change-gear sensor 14 of transmission, and signals from these sensors are put in a control unit 16. This unit 16 is composed of an input/output controller 17, A-D converter 18, CPU19, ROM20, RAM21, etc. and determines the amount of fuel from a fuel injection valve 24. As the engine 1 is decelerated from high-speed running, a negative pressure control valve 26 of a bypass passage 27 is gradually closed and fuel from the injection valve 24 is interrupted to prevent radical fluctuation of air fuel ratio.
