Abstract

PURPOSE: To smoothly reciprocate a piston, by making the piston from reinforced plastic employing carbon fibers to reduce the weight of the piston and improve its sliding property.
CONSTITUTION: When a driving shaft 1 is rotated, lubricating oil is supplied to various parts by an oil pump 14 and a swash plate 1 is rotated and a piston 6 is reciprocated in a cylinder bore 10 to perform compression. Since the piston 6 is made from reinforced plastic employing carbon fibers or graphite fibers, the weight and inertia of the piston are low and the frictional force due to the sliding of the piston in the cylinder bore 10 is small. Therefore, the piston 6 is smoothly reciprocated in the bore.
