Abstract

PURPOSE: To perform gas absorption and dust removal by a compact apparatus at a low pressure loss and at an excellent efficiency, by providing plural gas-liquid dispersing plates having a specific throat area ratio on the gas passage way in a tower, and by bringing the gas to be treated into parallel contact with liquid.
CONSTITUTION: A gas is introduced through an inlet pipe 2 while liquid being sprayed through a liquid-dispersing nozzle 3, and is brought into parallel contact with the liquid, whereby the contact of the gas including liquid drops with the liquid is performed efficiently by the disturbing effect caused by the narrowing and the broadening parts before and after the passage of the gas through intervals between parallel rods 8 which constitute a gas-liquid-despersing plate 6. The gas- liquid contact is performed at a throat area ratio of 10W25% of the gas-liquid- dispersing plate 6, at a gas flow speed at the Us=20W25m/sec, the ratio of the liquid flow rate L to the flow rate G of the gas to be treated L/G=25/1.05UsW 130/1.08Usl/m3.
