Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the surface properties of a cast article in a continuously casting process by imparting high frequency vibration of 5-50KHz to a mold opened at both ends to thereby reduce the friction of the mold. CONSTITUTION:A vibration of 5-50KHz is horizontally applied from a high frequency vibration generator 3 through a vibrator 1 and a vibration connecting rod 2 to the bottom of a mold 4 opened at both ends thereof. Since the mold 4 thus elevationally vibrates up and down along the pulling direction of a cast article to thereby reduce the frictional force between the cast article or piece 5 and the mold 4, it can continuously cast the cast piece 5 having less fringe pattern and scratches on the surface from the bottom of the mold 4.
