Abstract

PURPOSE: To suppress the white powder scumming in weaving of polyester monofilaments, by using the monofilaments of fine denier having a specific elongation at break for screen sheer warp yarns.
CONSTITUTION: Polyethylene terephthalate monofilaments of fineness ≤20 de, preferably 5W15 de, having an elongation at break of 35W60%, preferably 40W 50%, are used for screen sheer warp yarns.
EFFECT: Reduced Young's modulus and increased elasticity due to the high elongation at break permit the reduction in damage at the time of rubbing with the reed, and the prevention of warp yarn breakage and uneven wale streaks of gray fabrics.
