Abstract

PURPOSE: To utilize eye measurement due to a mirror image and to fit the point tool to the core position while looking at the mirror image, thereby to reduce the labor and time required in fitting a variety of point tools.
CONSTITUTION: After fitting a chucking base 9 to a chuck of a machine tool, a material to be measured is reflected on a movable mirror together with a reference plate 6, and the directional adjustment of the mirror surface 5 and base seat 5 is carried out so that the side surface of the reference plate becomes straight and corresponds to the core position. By causing the edge tip of the cutting tool to coincide with said straight side surface, the tool is fitted to the core position by the eye measurement. The fitting of the tool to the core position can be achieved by looking at the mirror image without requiring any skill.
