Abstract
PURPOSE: To prepare the title resin of high melting point, resistant to blocking, having little residual phenol, by reaction q a specific proportion of hexamethylene tetramine with a novolak type phenolic resin.
CONSTITUTION: A novolak type phenolic resin being in a molten state by heating to 100W200°C and 0.1W1 wt.%, based on the resin, of hexamethy leve tetramine being in a concentrated aqueous solution state are continuously added to a mixer to carry out reaction, followed by cooling to solidify the product into a desived shape.
