Abstract

PURPOSE:To manufacture a high quality galvanized steel strip for deep drawing at a low cost by continuosly carrying out overaging by low temp. annealing required in case of a cheap base metal and a galvanizing process in the same line. CONSTITUTION:Steel strip 1 is degreased and deoxidized in pretreating process 3 and heated at the A1 transformation point-900 deg.C for above 20 sec in continuous annealing unit 6. It is then galvanized in galvanizing unit 6 and cooled to 150- 400 deg.C necessary for overaging with steel strip temp. controller 7. The cooled strip is coiled with coiler 8, and coil 9 is gradually cooled and held at 150-400 deg.C for above 30 min to be overaged during conveyance with conveyor 11. Steel strip coil 9 is then uncoiled with uncoiler 13, rapidly cooled with steel strip cooler 15, and passed through skin pass mill 16 and tension leveler 17 to regulate the quality and shape. After rust preventive treatment in after-treatment unit 18 the strip is coiled with coiler 19 to give a product.
