Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent passengers on a compact snowmobile from coming into touch with a link mechanism and a spring when the travel of the slide suspension of the snowmobile is lengthened, whitout providing a special cover for a part of the link mechanism and the spring.
CONSTITUTION: The compact snowmobile comprises the link mechanism 51 which is supported under the central part of the body 10 of the snowmobile so that the link mechanism can swing vertically; slide rails 52a, 52b coupled to the link mechanism 51; guide rollers 53a, 53b rotatably supported on the rear ends of the slide rails; treads 30a, 30b partly supported on the bottom of the slide rails 52a, 52b and extending between driving sprockets 40a, 40b supported on the guide rollers 53a, 53b and the body 10 of the snowmobile; and the coiled spring 55 provided in the body 10 of the snowmobile to thrust the slide rails downward through the main part 51a of the link mechanism 51.
