Abstract

PURPOSE: To enhance the shift accuracy of the scan component by shifting the scan component via the belt which self-holds the nonplane shape.
CONSTITUTION: When shift component 22 is shifted in the right direction via pulley 29 and capstan 30, the tension is caused to belt 25. Thus component 22 has an accurate shift by the shift amount of capstan 30. In case capstan 30 stops the driving suddenly, the inertia force of component 22 compresses belt 25 but belt 25 is never flexed by the practical inertia force or so since the cross-section form of belt 25 features nonplane between component 22 and the blet driving part comprising the pinch roller and the capstan. In other words, component 22 always features the shift action equal to the rotary motion of capstan 30 even thoguh the tension or the compression stress may be applied to belt 25. Thus a high shift accuracy is secured for the scan component.
