Abstract
PURPOSE: To cheaply obtain liquefied CO2 from unused resources using natural high press. by taking out impure natural carbon dixide in its high press. state followed by fractional distillation, desulfurization, deodorization, dehumidification and cooling.
CONSTITUTION: Underground impure natural carbon dioxide is taken out in its high press. state and liquefied by cooling to separate most of CH4 and N2 in the form of gas. The resulting H2S-contg. liquefied carbon dioxide is rectified under press. to obtain a primary purified gas contg. 100 2000 ppm (vol.) of H2S. This gas is subjected to secondary purification to a H2S content below 1, pref. 0.2 ppm under high press. with a solid desulfurizing agent. The secondary pruified gas is finally passed through an activated carbon layer under high press. to reduce the S content to below 0.01 ppm as well as to deodorize the gas. After dehumidification with silica gel or the like and cooling, high purity liquefied carbon dioxide is obtd. The desulfurizing agent used includes a ZnO type agent, a Fe2O3 type agent and activated carbon.
