Abstract

PURPOSE: To inspect surely airtightness of rubber products by expanding and compressing them to detect the leakage of halogen gas enclosed in them.
CONSTITUTION: The top of rubber product 1 is clamped between jigs 23 and 21 hermetically, and the bottom is clamped between pawl 7 and set jig 6 hermetically. After chamber 4 is set outside product 1, air inside product 1 is removed temporarily, and Freon gas in Freon gas recovery cylinder 16 is charged in product 1 (lack of Freon gas is supplemented from Freon gas bombe 18). Next, push rod 24 and tossing rod 22 are moved vertically to expand and compress product 1. At this time, if defective parts (through holes) exist on product 1, Freon gas is leaked into chamber 4, so that airtightness of rubber product 1 can be inspected by detecting this leakage by detector tip 30 which is inserted into chamber 4 from detection hole 28.
