Abstract

PURPOSE: A method of producing a recess-dyed foamed decorative material with protective coat, whereby an embossed pattern is formed by foaming, and the recess dyeing and the formation of the protective coat can be conducted easily.
CONSTITUTION: A transparent film 1 (e.g. polyvinyl chloride, polyvinyl fluoride) is conveyed while in contact with a rubber roll 3 rotated by a presser roll 2. A non- foamable synthetic resin paint 6 is printed on the film 1 in an embossed arabesque pattern by use of a rotary screen cylinder 4. The paint 6 is dried and semi-gelled while passing by a far infrared device 7 kept at about 150°C. A sheet material 9 (foamable vinyl chloride resin sheet) in its softened condition is brought into close contact with the film 1, and pressure adhered to the film 1 by a pressure contact roll 10. The laminate is then heated and foamed in a foaming furnace.
