Abstract

PURPOSE: To increase the reading accuracy as well as to realize a high-speed recognition of the characters by supplying the characters or the like into the input tablet to read them through the reading device and at the same time giving the self-detection function of the segment direction to the pen itself for the character writing.

CONSTITUTION: Core 12 is supported by the upper and lower parts 13 and 14 and on the inner central axis of case 11 of information input pen, and circular electrode 15 is mounted at the middle of core 12 and outside of 12. At the same time, electrode 16 which is divided into eight equal parts and opposed to the outer circumference of electrode 15 is provided inside case 11. Each electrode is led outside the pen through the wiring to be connected to the external circuit. If pen 1 is moved in the forward front direction of 45, for example, when writing the characters onto the paper, pen point 17 receives the backward reaction force due to the contact to the paper surface. Accordingly, core 12 warps like a bow, and thus electrode 15 touches split electrode 168 to close the circuit there. These detection signals are drawn out sequentially and then changed into the digital form to be delivered.
