Abstract

PURPOSE: To make possible the small power consumption to realize the simultaneous removal of the soot dust and the nitrogen oxides, by introducing the combustion waste gas together with alcohol into the chemical absorption tower being internally equipped with the corona discharging electrode to be impressed with high voltage and the grounded electrode facing to above discharging electrode.
CONSTITUTION: The waste gas 2 together with the alcohol 10 are introduced into the chemical absorption tower 1. Meanwhile, a high DC voltage is impressed across the corona discharging electrode 4 and the grounded electrode 5, and the corona discharge is generated within chemical absorption tower 1. Owing to OH, O3, O, etc., generated by the corona discharge, NO included in the waste gas is oxidized to NO2, N2O3. NO2, N2O3, the soot dust in the waste gas, and SOx are absorbed by the absorbent solution falling down on the surface of the grounded electrode 5, and thus cleaned waste gas 3 is exhausted out of the system. The absorbent solution including the absorbed NO2, N2O3, the soot dust, SOx, etc., is discharged from the bottom of the chemical absorption tower 1; and after the solid separation and pH adjustment, the solution is introduced into the solution holding zone 6 through the washing solution puring pipe 7 in order to use again as the absorbent solution.
