Abstract

PURPOSE: To eliminate an operation to move an ink ribbon up-and-down and omit spent time and mechanisms therefore by using one part of a type wheel for red colored types exclusively and setting the ink ribbon so as to move in a direction perpendicular to the axis of the wheel in accordance with that arrangement.

CONSTITUTION: An ink ribbon 9 is attached so as to move in a direction perpendicular to that of a shaft for type wheels 5, 6 and one part of the ribbon 9 where is opposing to the type wheel 5, used for red colored types exclusively, is constituted to be a red ink ribbon 8. Thereby, necessary symbols may be printed with red ink and the others may be printed with black ink. When red colored printing is not necessary, a groove portion 10 of the exclusive red color type wheel 5 may be selected, and thereby, all symbols may be printed with black ink and none of them with red ink. However, a hammer or a platen should have a length equal to that of the wheel 5, 6 and should be able to push the types in one row by one hammer so that an individual hammer for the wheel 5 may not be necessitated.
