Abstract

PURPOSE: To manufacture a cushion whose hardness varies part to part, by providing a part of a surface material with impregnation holes for a liquid for a foamed polyurethane piece, tentatively attaching the surface material to the inside of a metal mold, pouring the liquid into the mold and foaming the liquid.
CONSTITUTION: After the part of the surface material 3 is provided with the holes or grooves for easily impregnating the liquid for the foamed polyurethane piece, the surface material is tentatively attached to the inside surface of the lower part 10 of the metal mold 9. A prescribed quantity of the liquid F is poured into the lower part 10 of the mold. The opening of the lower part 10 is closed with the upper part 11 of the mold. The liquid F is then foamed. The liquid F is impregrated not only in the holes or grooves of the surface material 3 but also in its structure. The impregnated liquid is hardened. The foamed piece is picked out of the metal mold 9, thereby obtaining the cushion 1.
