Abstract

PURPOSE: To draw a pattern having cubic effect on a thermosetting resin dressing plate by forming concaves and convexes on a substrate of the dressing plate, painting paints of different tones in the concaves and convexes in few layers, and then polishing up.
CONSTITUTION: A plurality of core papers each comprising a craft paper impregnated with a thermosetting resin such as phenol resin piled to form a substrate 1 of dress ing plate, on which concaves and convexes are engraved. The substrate 1 is painted successively, with paints 2, 3, 4 respectively comprising a mixture of, for example, a reactive acryl-urethane paint and a pigment of different colors under the painting conditions optimum for the respective paints 2, 3, 4. A top coat layer 5 covers thus obtained paint layers. If the substrate 1 as well as the layers thereon is subjected to the thermosetting and then the polishing processes, a desired pattern can be obtained in the surface.
