Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain this electric contact material with excellent consumption resistance properties and welding resistance properties that is gained by adding a specified quantity of Sn and Ni and not less than one kind of In, Zn, Sb, Mn, Zr, Bi, rare earth elements to Ag and by internally oxidizing these elements.
CONSTITUTION: A plate material in an Ag alloy is manufactured which contains 5W15 weight% Sn, 1.0W20 weight% Ni and 0.01W10 weight% at least not less than one kind of In, Zn, Sb, Mn, Zr, Bi and rare earth elements and contains so that the total of these elements be not more than 30 weight%. Ag is welded on one side of the plate material in order to facilitate brazing, and rolled in 1.0mm thickness. The sheet is punched by means of a press in 7.5mmϕ, and internally oxidized for 120 hours in an oxygen atmosphere in 700°C and 6 atmospheric pressure. An Ag- stannic oxide electric contact material with consumption resistance properties and welding resistance properties can be obtained.
