Abstract

PURPOSE: To raise the rate of denitrification without enlarging the apparatus and also without lowering the contacting efficiency between NOx present in waste gas and catalyst in the denitrification of waste gas to catalytically reduce nitrogen oxides in waste gas by using catalyst and ammonia.
CONSTITUTION: The catalytic reduction-denitrification of waste gas is performed by passing in order waste gas through a process in which ammonia is adsorbed in catalyst, a process in which the ammonia-adsorbed catalyst is supplied to a reaction tower, and a process in which dust is removed from catalyst exhausted from the reaction tower in a repeated manner. For example, the waste gas 1 kept at a fixed temperature is introduced into the moving bed type reaction tower 2 to bring it into contact with the ammonia-adsorbed catalyst for denitrification. On the other hand, catalyst exhausted from the reaction tower 2 is passed through the screen 3 to remove dust and then introduced to the ammonia adsorption tower 4. The ammonia-adsorbed catalyst is charged to the upper part of the reaction tower 2 by the belt-conveyer 5 for recycling.
