Abstract

PURPOSE: To deactivate viruses of hepatitis, etc. easily, by the heat treatment of HGIGP separated from human urine, effective to promote differentiation multiplication of granulocytes of human marrow cells and useful as a drug for leukemia, etc.
CONSTITUTION: Pathogenic viruses existing in HGIGP which has a molecular weight of 75000W90000; specific rotation of [α]D20=0W±40 (0.25% aqueous solution); isoelectric point of pH 4.7±0.2, is separated from human urine and acts on human marrow cells to promote differentiation multiplication of granulocytes, are deactivated by the addition of an acid or alkaline aqueous solution to an aqueous solution containing at least 70 mg of said HGIGP per ml to adjust pH to 5W9 and then the heat treatment at 50W70°C for 8W30 hr. Viruses of hepatitis, endemic diseases, etc. can be easily deactivated in an industrial scale, without deactivation of HGIGP.
