Abstract

PURPOSE: To enhance strength as well as hardeness and scratch resistance, by subjecting part of a frame with core bars to heat treatment.
CONSTITUTION: Metallic materials are used subjected to heat treatment, such as age hardening, quenching, or tempering in part of spectacles frame partially made of metals, such as metal frame, combination frame, or plastic frame with core bars. In the above heat treatment, berillium copper alloy is converted into solution at 800°C, and age-hardenes at 300°C. In quenching and tempering heat treatment, ferrite type high carbon stainless steel is quenched at 1150°C, and tempered at 400°C. Such age hardening, quenching and tempering permit strength of metallic materials as well as their hardness and resistance to scratch to be enhanced.
