Abstract

PURPOSE: To achieve the prevention of production of fixing defects by controlling the lead-out timing of the fixing ready signal according to the time required for a heat-sensing element to detect the specified temperature.
CONSTITUTION: A heat-sensing element 28 indirectly measures the surface temperature of a fixing roller 24 by measuring the surface temperature of a heating roller 22. Now, when switches 49, 50 are turned ON, current supply to the heaters 25, 26 of the heating rollers 22, 23 is started and at the same time a counter 35 starts counting clock signals 24 and leads the count value when the element 28 reaches the specified temperature into a comparator 36, where it is compared with the set value n. When the count value is lower than this value n, it is identified that the copying machine has been restarted after it had been cut off for a short time, thence the fixing device ready signal is led out.
