Abstract
PURPOSE: To simple detect the malfunction of a timer, a computer and a detecting circuit of a vehicle pattern automatic traffic control system by so constructing that the logic of an operation monitor signal becomes zero even when any of the timer, computer and detecting circuit is failed.
CONSTITUTION: A computer measures the period of the output of a tachometer generator 1 and compares the measured period with predetermined speed data stored in the memory 3 thereof to thereby check the speed. The computer then sets or reset the speed discrimination flag in the memory according to the magnitude of the checked speed, and interrupts it with predetermined period to thereby invert the logic of an operation monitor output port 13. It simultaneously outputs an operation monitor output complement to the speed check output port 12 when the flag is reset, rectifies the outputs of the operation monitor and speed check output ports through band pass filters 15, 16, respectively and a transformer 19 by rectifying circuits 20, 21, respectively, and then detects the malfunction of the speed check detection and the computer according to the existence of the output of the circuits.
