Abstract

PURPOSE:To prepare cosmetics having low melting point, high hardness, and excellent characteristics, by using an ester of a 2-substituted-1-alcohol and a fatty acid in place of wax. CONSTITUTION:A cosmetic composition containing at least one ester derived from a 2-substituted-1-alcohol of formula (R1, R2 are 12-24C saturated or unsaturated alkyl) and a 8-22C saturated or unsaturated straight chain fatty acid or a 4-20C saturated or unsaturated straight chain dibasic acid (e.g. stearic acid, behenic acid, etc.). The ester has low melting point, refreshing feelings, spreadability, and low stickiness compared with the conventional wax.
