Abstract

PURPOSE: To impart a time difference to a stress load thereby to improve the testing efficiency by making it possible to arrange a plurality of testing members in parallel (or in series) on a test piece jig and by making different the stopper position of a chuck shaft such as the fixed end of the test piece.
CONSTITUTION: A plurality of test pieces 2 are mounted between a drive side flange 5 and a fixed side flange 6 and are set such that the position of the stopper 8 of the shaft 9 of a fixed side chuck 3 is made different. For example, if a lefthand test piece is broken, a load is imparted to the center test piece so that the sensitivity to the stress corrosion cracking is evaluated while consecutively setting the time differences. Under the environment at a high temperature and under a high pressure, more substantial tests can be accomplished for the whole running time than that for the case of a single-axis test piece jig. There can be obtained an advantage that if is unnecessary to provide a number of control structures for the tester.
