Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a mold for continuous casting which can prevent thermal stresses otherwise working on a slat composing the coveyor while eliminating a gap between slats by means of a pin hole for a link plate connecting slats shaped into a slot.
CONSTITUTION: Catepillar type conveyors 1, 2, 3 and 4 made up of slats 13 connected between adjacent ones by inserting a pin 23 into pin holes 21 and 22 on ring plates 16a and 16b provided thereon are arranged on four sides to form a mold. Pin holes 21 and 22 are so shaped into a slot that a conveyor 2 is driven to push the rear face 29 of the preceding slat 13b with the front face of the subsequent slat 13a. Thus, a possible gap between the slats 13a and 13b can be checked. With rollers 24 and 25 supported by a guide rail 26, no slats are lifted though the subsequent slats push the preceding slats.
