Abstract
PURPOSE: To cool castings uniformly in the width direction by equipping a deflector at a chock part of each of a multiple division roll and by preventing the cooling water from pouring into the chock part.
CONSTITUTION: A half circular steel deflector 1 is inserted into a clearance d between a roll chock 19 and the surface of a casting piece W and cooling water is prevented from coming into the clearance d. A nozzle which jets gas or liquid to a roll chock part 19 is equipped and the cooling water is prevented from flowing into the clearance through such suitable methods as it is blown away.
