Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a captioned device capable of adjusting a force to fix a mold after a mold change in a short time and automatically by providing a straight-line position detector for two links of a toggle mechanism, a contact detector between merallic molds and an operation control device for a mold fixing unit. CONSTITUTION:After molds are changed, an operation for closing the molds is effected by moving a piston 26 to the right, and when a toggle mechanism 8 is fully extended, a link 9 contacts with a limit switch 23 and an oil feeding to a hydraulic device 7 is stopped. Here, both molds 1, 4 are adjusted so as to have some clearance therebetween. Subsequently, when a mold fixing unit 12 is forwarded with fully extended links 9, 10, both molds 1, 4 are contacted and the forwarding of the unit is stopped by a pressure switch 22. Next, the toggle mechanism 8 is contracted and both molds 1, 4 are opened. Successively, a rotated amount of a hydraulic motor 15 is detected by a revolution detector 24 and is sent to a control unit 18 while the unit 12 forwarded by the motor 15. The integrated value of the rotated amount is corresponded to a preset value in a mold fixing force presetting device 17, and thus, desired fixing force for the molds may be obtained.
