Abstract

PURPOSE: To curtail the fuel cost of turbine plant by flowing steam in series to high-pressure and low-pressure turbine at the time of low loading and also in parallel with cruising and high-pressure turbine at the set-up time.
CONSTITUTION: At the low-loading time, steam coming from the cruising nozzle 6 passes through the cruising turbine 2, enters into the high-pressure first stage 1 through the cruising exhaust switching valve 5, passes through the high-pressure turbine 1 and the low-pressure turbine 3 where steam works in respective ones, and then goes to a condenser. At the intermediate loading time, steam is introduced from the high-pressure nozzle valve 7 in succession and then met with cruising exhaust in the high-pressure first stage. At the high-loading operation, steam is increasingly introduced from the high-pressure nozzle valve 7 and after approx. 15% of load at the lowloading time is reached with the rise of the cruising exhaust pressure, the cruising exhaust switching valve 5 is switched to send the cruising exhaust to the exhaust chamber of high-pressure stage or a stage near the exhaust chamber.
