Abstract

PURPOSE: To surely and stably perform the plugging of a DC motor, by detecting the plugging so that a main circuit chopper and a series circuit consisting of a switching element and a resistor through which the field current of the motor flows are operated exclusively to each other.

At that time, a voltage is generated by the armature DM of the DC motor and a current IA starts flowing through a diode DF2 as shown in Fig. The voltage drop through the diode DF2 is detected by plugging detection circuit PD. The output of the detection circuit is applied to control circuits SWC, CHC, PC to turn off a chopper CH and a switching circuit SW and turn on a plugging switch circuit PC. As a result, the field current If flows through a resistor R1 and the armature current IA flows through another resistor R2 so that electric energy is consumed.
