Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a high-precision faulty point marking system which can be applied for a wide range, by using measured accident current and voltage quantities to mark the accident generation point of a transmission line.
CONSTITUTION: In case that a fault occurs at point F of distance X from electric place A in a specific phase of the n-phase transmission line, specific frequency components are extractef from the voltage and the current which are measured in electric place A; and by applying the characteristic of the transmission line as a distribution constant circuit for a high-degree expansion concerning distance which is expressed by using a line constant, VFK=0 and VFi=VFj are true for K-phase ground-fault and j-phase short-circuit respectively in respect to faulty phase voltage VF indicated as the high-degree expression of distance X, and then, the faulty point is marked by solving this equation for distance X. Concretely, voltage and current information obtained through n-number sets of transformers 2 in electric place A are converted to a digital quantity by A/D converter 3, and the faulty point is marked by digital computer 4 which stores previously the expansion above and is displayed on display equipment 5.
